Background:
Dr. Karbo began her medical journey at the University of Ghana, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in medical sciences and subsequently completed her Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree. Her professional experience spans various facets of patient care, serving communities in Ghana and neighboring countries. At the National Center for Radiotherapy, Oncology, and Nuclear Medicine, she worked as a medical officer, attending to the needs of cancer patients.
Recognizing the diverse health challenges faced by different populations, Dr. Karbo has led multiple public health outreaches and programs in underprivileged communities, focusing on health education and promotion. At Johns Hopkins University, her work centers on developing innovative solutions to provide affordable and equitable healthcare access for people in low- and middle-income countries.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Karbo is an active member of the African Public Health Network and the African Business Club. She also serves as a board member of the Full-Time MBA Association and as the Secretary for Gender, Intersectionality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GIDI) for the International Students Association. She is honored to be a recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Scholarship.
Ultimately, Dr. Karbo is working towards becoming a healthcare leader to contribute to policies that improve healthcare delivery globally.
