Background

Dr. Oluwaseyi Atoyebi, co-founder and Chairman of WHAT STIRS US Initiative, is an esteemed public health advocate and business expert. He is currently an MBA candidate with a focus on Health Sector Management at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. His extensive background encompasses a wide array of fields, including Health Management & Policy, Health Economics, Health Innovation & Research, and Health Tech Project Management.

Dr. Atoyebi began his medical journey at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Nigeria, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He further honed his skills in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery as a resident doctor at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), specializing in traumatology of the middle and lower thirds of the face and facial deformities. Additionally, he served as a general dentist at both the Alliance Hospital Abuja, where he rose to become the acting Head of the Department.

His commitment to public health led him to work with the ZeroNoma Initiative, an NGO focused on healthcare interventions. At Duke University, he is not only an MBA candidate but also an HSM Fellow, contributing significantly as a cabinet member overseeing community engagement for the Healthcare Club at the business school. He is also active in the Business in Africa Club.

He is a Fuqua Impact Scholar and a recipient of the Rollins Award. Beyond his professional achievements, he serves as the General Secretary of the Golden Generation Club. He also continues to drive youth leadership and education through his initiative, WHAT STIRS US.
